The project site is built on the enclosed sea flat, located in Wusha Village, Xizhou Town, Xiangshan County. It is located in the middle of Xiangshan Port, adjacent to Xiangshan Port in the north, Wusha Mountain in the east, Kangmeitang in the west, Hushan Mountain in the south, and is adjacent to Xiangshan Port in the north. Western Zhou Town faces each other.

The project construction scale is 2.4 million kilowatts of domestic supercritical coal-fired generating units, and flue gas desulfurization devices are installed simultaneously. The total investment is 9.449 billion yuan. The capital is 1.89 billion yuan, and it is jointly funded and constructed by Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Energy Group Corporation, Ningbo Electric Power Development Company and Xiangshan Dongfang Energy Investment Company.
 
During the application period of the SF6 leakage monitoring system of other manufacturers, the main engine and monitoring sensor had many failures. After being dealt with by the manufacturer, the failure occurred after a long time of operation, which seriously affected the environment of the GIS switch room and the safety of maintenance personnel. As a result, the indoor fan runs 24 hours a day, wasting a lot of energy and financial resources. Shan Power Plant can better monitor the SF6 and oxygen concentration content, temperature and humidity changes in the GIS switch room environment around the clock, and save the GIS operating costs well.
