WFS-D8-UHF-E external UHF partial discharge sensor is a high-sensitivity sensor specially designed for measuring the partial discharge signal of GIS. It is suitable for installation and use on GIS with different voltage levels of 66kV and above or connecting to the corresponding partial discharge tester for detection. .

Its technical feature is that the detection frequency is wide, which can effectively avoid various electrical interferences such as corona switch operation in conventional partial discharge measurement; the detection frequency is wide and the sensitivity is very high. The effective PD signal is abundant. The shell adopts all-metal package, which not only ensures the electromagnetic compatibility of the product, but also improves the reliability of the product.

Technical principle

GIS partial discharge is the electrical breakdown of a local area in electrical insulation, accompanied by the neutralization of positive and negative charges to generate a pulse current, the current pulse rise time and duration are only nanoseconds (ns) level, the current pulse will excite high-frequency Electromagnetic waves, the main frequency band is 300MHz-1500MHz. Using the feature that the electromagnetic waves generated by GIS partial discharge leak out from the basin-type insulator through the outward radiation at the insulation gap, the electromagnetic coupling through the external UHF partial discharge sensor can effectively detect these electromagnetic wave signals, and then according to the received signal strength. Analyze the severity of partial discharges.

The use of the product needs to be combined with the actual situation on site to build an application platform. In the case that the GIS does not have a pre-installed built-in UHF sensor, select the working mode according to the user's needs:

1. Detection mode: The external UHF partial discharge sensor and the portable partial discharge tester are used together to carry out on-site live detection. When used in patrol inspection, the sensor is placed on the insulating basin to collect signals, which does not affect the on-site GIS structure.

2. Monitoring mode: The external UHF sensor is directly fixed on the insulating basin with a shielding tape, and an online monitoring system is installed for real-time monitoring. Monitoring does not affect the on-site GIS structure.
